Girls, let’s be honest. Your wedding food is one of the most important decisions you’ll make. This is the piece that people remember. And as wedding planners in such a beautiful place as Montana, we want to be able to deliver you food choices that can literally roll up to your mountaintop venue and feed your guests will pure deliciousness.
When you’re looking for wedding catering in Missoula (or wherever your wedding day may take you), Clove Cart Pizza is definitely where you should look. We actually booked them for OUR OWN cherry orchard wedding reception. Emma is so easy to work with and has so many great pizza options. This isn’t just your “run of the mill” pizza here. It’s truly gourmet! We sat down with Clove Cart Pizza to get their take on their business and wedding day catering.
1. Where are you located?
Clove Cart is a mobile wood fired pizza cart located in Missoula, Mt.
2. Your story of how you got into business.
I acquired the Clove Cart after working and managing the business for the first owner, Kendall Rogers. After two seasons of working for Kendall she decided she wanted to sell the cart to me. I quickly learned that expanding into wedding and event catering was how I wanted the business to grow, and we soon built a second oven to take out of town.
3. Who is your ideal client?
It's really a tie between Beyonce, Jerry Garcia, and Alton brown. But for clients that are living and willing to hire us, someone who's looking for a unique catering company. Someone who wants delicious seasonal ingredients, but is working on a budget. Everyone loves pizza.
4. Describe the process of what it looks like to work with you.
We are a small business, and we work directly with the client. I work and prep for every event that we get hired for. Our goal is to match the vision that the client's has.
5. What's the biggest trend you are seeing in wedding decor (or wedding catering/food)?
The biggest trend I see is straying away from the traditional formal wedding and making it more unique. (Kelsey here, this is ABSOLUTELY happening! Brides and grooms want to offer their guests a unique and memorable experience and food is such a perfect place to do that. We can only have chicken so much, amiright?!)
6. What is your favorite part of your business?
I love being able to cook outside and travel all around Northwest Montana. Being mobile we are able to go off the grid, we've catered at peoples ranches, lake homes, national forest campgrounds, and beautiful wedding venues.
7. Favorite wedding story.
We drove down to Burgdourf Hot Springs, outside of McCall Idaho to cater a wedding. It is a very long drive from Missoula. The hot springs are about 30 miles in the back country, so the couple had hired us to serve late night pizza as well as dinner service. This was one of my favorite weddings because we became friends with everyone who attended. It also poured rain the whole day and nobody even cared. The family was so kind and bought us a campground to spend the night. The next morning we were soaking in the springs with everyone, and we made some really good new friendships.
8. What makes your services unique?
The most unique thing about our service is that we can travel anywhere. We also take a lot of pride, not only in the quality of our product, but in our presentation. Our trailers and ovens are homemade and truly unique looking.
9. Where do you see your business going in the next five years?
I want to be right here in Montana. I hope to do more off the grid events, making pizza in the most beautiful landscapes that Montana has to offer.
