As soon as Alyssa first emailed us that she was getting married, we were so over the moon it wasn't even funny! She told us how since she got engaged, she knew that she wanted us for her wedding photographer - side note, photographers LOVE this haha - She was SO excited and we got to catch up and talk about her wedding day plans, her man and their love story, and basically how their family was such an anchor in their relationship. We always want to hear more about the love story and that you're actually EXCITED to connect with us versus just price shopping. Soooo we appreciated the heck outta her right off the bat!
Alyssa & Kelsey had gone to elementary school together and grew up in the woods of Clancy, Montana. It was the perfect place for their engagement session when we first got to meet her future husband, Tanner. They told us how many times how "awkward" they are (like most couples do). We were fully prepared to make them comfortable in front of our cameras, but honestly, we never had to! We told them to focus on each other and they were clearly so comfortable just being next to their best friend! They were freaking FIRE together. The love simply radiated and it was the same for their wedding day.
Their initial plan was for a larger wedding in Helena, but due to the corona (yes, THE corona), they moved to their parent's house in Clancy for an intimate little wedding with just their closest family and friends. It was seriously the loveliest day!
When the time came for bride and groom portraits, we asked them to love on each other, trying to be as invisible as possible as they cozied up together and soaked each other up. Those first few moments of their new life and commitment together are so meaningful and pure MAGIC. It wasn't because they studied up on model moves, but they just had that crazy connection - and that's what it's all about.
