Carrie and Matt rolled up to this gorgeous Saturday morning in Polson nothing but smiles. They were OUR FAVORITE and the absolute sweetest human beings. Basically we want to be their friends forever! It’s fine. We love photographing engagement sessions in Polson because the river shots are SO different from the mountains just up the road. Carrie & Matt brought so much fun to the engagement session and we loooved it!
Their Love Story
Matt and Carrie met in college working together at the Outdoor Endeavors program in Minnesota, and bonded over their love for all things outdoors. After college and a couple years of working, they decided they needed a new adventure in their life, and thought the best thing to do was quit their jobs and move to the mountains. Initially they decided on Colorado, but life had other plans, which took them to the Flathead Valley in Montana.
After three years in Montana they went home for Christmas for the first time since moving away from home. Matt had been particular about having a carry on backpack that would fit on the plane, in the case they got one of the tiny puddle jumpers where they still made you check your regulation sized carry on. Once arriving in Minnesota to Carrie’s parent’s place, Matt had been very adamant about taking a walk a couple days in a row (insert suspicious behavior that probably means a proposal is about to happen here).
On December 23rd, they bundled up to brave the cold and windy day and headed down to the Mississippi River with the two family dogs. While walking along the river Matt had asked Carrie if they could stop to take a picture with the dogs. That is when Matt pulled out a letter for Carrie to read. A letter was only appropriate due to the many letters they wrote to each other while Matt had a guiding job in Minnesota and in Montana. While Carrie read the letter…crying, she looked up and saw Matt on one knee asking her to marry him. She said YES, and they got to celebrate the remaining week with friends and family in merriment.
