Where are you located?

We are currently located in Missoula, Montana.

How did you get into business?

Jack & Christy Wich were living in Montpelier, VT, where Jack worked as a first-year Chef Instructor at the New England Culinary Institute. Christy, a native Montanan, wanted to be closer to her parents in Helena, and so they made the decision to move to Missoula, MT and fulfill Jack’s lifelong dream of opening his own bakery.

Who is your perfect world bride?

A bride that has a clear stylistic direction in mind, is willing to break with traditions and create a pastry that expresses the couple’s personal style and view

Describe the process of what it looks like to work with you.

All of our wedding cakes start out with a personal consultation. You will meet with us, try our most popular wedding cake flavors, and discuss design options. At this point, we will work up a quote for you outlining all of the costs. We will then accept a $50 deposit to schedule you in our calendar. One week prior to your wedding date, we call to confirm all of the details. On your wedding day, we deliver your perfect wedding cake!

What’s the biggest trend you are seeing in wedding desserts and cakes?

Dessert bars. The trend for the last few years has been to do a very nontraditional sweetheart cake (small two tier), featuring a variety of colors, or a lot of flowers such as succulents, wildflowers, and thistles instead of roses, carnations, and baby’s breath. Dessert bars feature a variety of different options so people of all dietary choices can be included in the desserts.

What is your favorite part of the business?

Creating the wedding cakes! Taking a cake from a sketch to a reality always presents a host of challenges but is rewarding.

What makes your services unique?

We work in all types of cake, not just traditional buttercream. We will do anything from shaped to fondant to rice paper. We stay current on all of the trends and techniques.

Where do you see your business going in the next five years?

We are hoping to expand into a much larger location so we can expand our services to more brides each season.
