White Raven made for a stunning mountain escape for Rebekah & Likom’s wedding. They flew all the way from Chicago!! We fell in love with all of the pretty little wedding day details. From the stunning lace wedding gown that Rebekah’s mother had worn on her wedding day (insert socially acceptable sobs here), her gorgeous wedding ring, the flowers, and everything in between. We loved the colorful flowers from Agile Goat Flower Farm & Design that decorated the bouquets and long farm tables at the reception!
Not to mention, they had the BEST crew to celebrate their day with them. The groomsmen looked like they just walked off set of a James Bond movie and the ladies were so pretty in pink! Plus, the dancing game was STRONG with this couple! They were really holding out on us when they all of a sudden busted a move on the dance floor! We had to have them recreate it for their sunset photos – it’s a must see!
Favorite wedding details
Likom’s family is originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo and we really wanted to find ways to integrate their culture into our mostly American wedding. We were really excited about the African print ties and earrings that the bridal party changed into for the reception as a small way to include their culture. We also loved doing a traditional African Money Dance and having everyone join in and throw money at us as we danced (SO fun!).
One of our favorite details from our ceremony that really mattered to us was having each of our nephews jointly read a scripture from the book of Ruth speaking about family.
Our colors were green and pink and Rebekah’s mother loaned her her late grandmother’s emerald ring to wear on the day. As a gift, her mother purchased her matching emerald earrings from her grandmother’s favorite jeweler.
For the second half of my father-daughter dance we played “Hit the Road Jack” which was a song my siblings and my dad and I always sang and joked about growing up. We loved how our siblings and other family joined for both our father-daughter and mother-son dances for the second half.
What one moment will last with you both forever?
We chose not to do a first look to have the traditional moment of seeing each other first at the isle. Ultimately, we really treasured that decision and it made for that time and specific moment being so special. For me, Rebekah, once I was standing at the altar holding Likom’s hands and seeing the emotion on his face, everything else disappeared and I was totally focused on him and that moment. I’ll never forget it!
The couple’s getaway car to their sunset session was the COOLEST golf cart with the even cooler driver, The Jake! Rock on!
